'He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver. ... he says "I will also make you a light for the Gentiles that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth." ' Isaiah 49:2,6 |
5. ISAIAH - REFERENCES TO THE 1ST (AND 2ND) COMING OF CHRIST
Compiled by Marian Coekin
It
is in the nature of prophecy in the Old Testament that future events may be
rolled into one. So at one moment it may be Christ's first coming that is in
view only to be closely followed by a glimpse of the second coming. In any case
the burden of Scripture is that the first and second coming of Jesus are one
great act of God. We live in the 'between times'.
