But the angel said to them ' Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.' Luke 2:10,11

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16,17

But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those  who were under the law, that we might receive the full rights as sons.' Galatians 4:4,5.

Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death - that is, the devil - and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. Hebrews 2:14,15
